A former loner who is still getting used to being around other not-cats again. Mothsilk has a warm and caring heart, but xyr social skills are a bit rusty, so xe hesitates to open up to others, afraid xe'll say something weird and drive others away.
During xyr lonely years, Mothsilk grew very fond of the pigeons that kept xem company in the city park, so when xe moved into Little Respite, xe quickly made some fantail pigeon friends to remind xem of home. The fantail pigeons have become so fond of Mothsilk, they usually follow xem around, climbing all over xem.

Background:
Back on Earth, xe was separated from xyr colony while traveling to Nestor's portal six years ago. Hoping if xe only stayed put and waited, xyr family would eventually find xem, Mothsilk remained alone in a city park night after night, season after season, hoping, praying - but no one ever came to find xem.
One day, Mothsilk finally gave up on being found, and xe continued the journey toward the portal alone. By the time xe made it to Not-Earth, xe had all but forgotten how to interact with other not-cats, and xe felt awfully out of place. Knowing just the place for someone who needed a fresh start somewhere calm and quiet, Nestor introduced xem to the not-cats of Little Respite.
Over time, Mothsilk slowly became more comfortable around the other not-cats in Little Respite - xe even made two best friends, Rogue and Cloudcover, who saw past xyr awkward exterior to the loving soul within.
However, Mothsilk also soon attracted the romantic attentions of Noon, a bold young not-cat over 7 years xyr junior. Although Noon was strong-willed and passionate, and disarmingly sincere in its courtship, Mothsilk felt entirely out of xyr depth in this situation - xe felt guilty about filling that space in Noon's heart that many others would surely have loved to occupy, and xe was afraid of what the rest of the community would think of a relationship with such a large age gap. For a while, Noon continuously tried to charm Mothsilk, while Mothsilk hesitated.
Come autumn, Mothsilk found xyr heart swelling with excitement as Leaf Day approached. It was the first time in many years xe had been able to celebrate a big holiday like this with other not-cats, and xe found xyr old anxieties fade with the leaves. During the Leaf Day festivities, Mothsilk spent a lot of time with Noon just playing games and celebrating late into the night. Swept up in the excitement of the season and the promise of a fresh start in the upcoming year, Mothsilk finally dared to admit to xyr true feelings, and xe and Noon started a relationship.
Only a few days after Leaf Day wrapped up, they were forced to sheepishly come clean to the rest of the village about their new romantic commitment. They had gotten a little too carried away celebrating aforementioned new year, and the village would soon be graced with new kittens. Whoops!

Social circle: [Loners]
- Rogue: Mothsilk's best friend. Because they're two of the oldest cats in the village and they both suffered hardships trying to survive on Earth, they connect with each other on a different level. They're very gentle with each other, always happy to be each other's shoulder to lean on.
- Cloudcover: Another best friend. Though one wouldn't think Cloudcover and Mothsilk would have much in common, they greatly enjoy sharing cozy quiet-time together. They can spend entire rainy afternoons inside not saying a word to one another and still feel like they've had a wonderful day of bonding. Their mutual idea of "fun" can seem a little boring to other not-cats, but then it's a good thing they have each other.
- Noon: Mothsilk's partner, who is extremely protective of xem. Noon knew it wanted to be with Mothsilk shortly after meeting xem, and has never wavered in its commitment to xem no matter how weird and awkward Mothsilk acts in return. Noon sees the depth of Mothsilk's kindness beneath the surface ... and also seems to find xyr shyness deeply endearing. Even to this day, Mothsilk still often acts nervous around Noon, but it's only because xe really, really likes it and isn't always sure how to express xemself. Xe finds immense comfort in Noon's presence and is determined to be there for it in turn.
- Pigeon: One of Mothsilk and Noon's children. Pigeon admires her parents very much and always tries her best to do as they ask her. She is extra sweet and kind toward Mothsilk, as she can tell xe needs a gentle touch.
- Butterfly: Mothsilk and Noon's other child. Of all the wise and interesting not-cats in Little Respite, Butterfly is quite certain her parents are the wisest and interesting-est of all! Because she believes her parents always know what is best, she tries hard to always follow their directions. She can listen to Mothsilk's tales from xyr many years on Earth for hours on end with rapt attention.
