Back on Earth, what seems like a lifetime ago, Amaranth lived on a cruise ship the size of a floating city. She saw volcanoes and pyramids and icebergs and skyscrapers, until one night she slunk into a nondescript tourist port and found a moose whose antlers seemed to brush the clouds, calling to her. Her life on Not-Earth is much smaller, but less lonely. Other cats know to clear their schedules for hours or days before asking for tales of her adventures.
