Calamity tunes of the Hourglass
Something isn’t right. The winds shifted its tone from calm to violent. The nature’s fury sudden switch is inexplicable; there seems to be a border between the outside world and this place… the outside calm, the inside raging. In the eye of the storm lies an hourglass ,but the sand inside isn’t falling; it is rising to reset the cycle...
Beware, Wanderer (introduction)
Oh, wanderer, what is it that you seek in this land? Promises of notes, fragments, fame? They prove no worth here in this broken corner of not-Earth. Unless you are willing to weave your wits and strength to face the hazards and discover the secrets of the falling sand, this is land is no home for you.
[Lore wip | definitely not inspired by rainworld ahaha/hj]
What drew us here [a draft, this section is incomplete]
The hourglass seems to draw those who are curious about it that will benefit from the discovery and amplifies the curious ones with the desire to find the mysterious land ,but repels the ones who seek other things else. Only ones who have enough desire to breach the barrier is capable of being the permanent inhabitants of this place.
Racing the Hourglass
Villanelle by Kunabee #13532
The sand falls; you run out of time:
again comes the cycle that the hourglass wrought.
Listen not to the bell; hear not the chime.
Calamity is no lie; there is no peaceful paradigm
as you race through the woods to avoid being caught.
Yet the sand falls and you run out of time.
Bravery will bring you far, but bravery is the crime;
what will happen when all of bravery is for not?
Listen not to the bell; hear not the chime.
Even if you were once in your prime,
this place will tear you apart, worse if you fought;
The sand falls - you run out of time.
Foolish creature, why do you still climb,
as if you can escape what has become your lot.
(Listen not to the bell; hear not the chime.)
“I will not be here alone; listen to my rhyme!
Heroes exist even in corners fraught.”
The sand falls, and you run out of time.
“Not if I do not listen to the bell; I hear no chime!”
